New Painting

I have finally started a watercolor painting that has been nagging at me since Summer of ’82.

The subject is from a photo taken of The Old Grist Mill in North Little Rock, AR.

This unique artistic endeavor and labor of love is a re-creation of an original grist mill from the 1840s.

Justin Matthews built the mill in the early 1930s, and it was featured in the opening scenes of Gone With the Wind. This is believed to be the only surviving on-location structure from the movie.

It is very interesting and almost like something you’d see at Knott’s or Disneyland-definitely worth a visit.
